The Strongest Bridal Jewellery Trends for 2012

All brides want to feel special on their wedding day so make sure you choose the most glamorous jewellery.

LONDON, ENGLAND, March 29, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Every bride is looking for that individual stylish look that reflects her own personality and yet remains fashionable. They take inspiration from fashion shows and magazines and particularly from celebrities and royalty.

Bridal jewellery is chosen to complement the dress and thus depends very much on the style of dress to be worn. Many brides will opt for a wedding dress cut in traditional lines but the classic silhouette is likely to be softened by delicate jewellery pieces such finely worked fretwork chandelier earrings while vintage style brooches, worn to accent the dress or maybe even fitted to a shoe, will add that personal touch. An emerging trend in dresses is high necklines with long sleeves. This is fuelling demand for intricate necklaces with pearls and beads and for attractive headpieces and bands.

Old Hollywood glamour will be a major influence in 2012. Almost any vintage-style jewellery will be the perfect complement but classic silver designs will be the most popular. The fashionable bride should be looking for sparkling pieces, possibly featuring delicate pearl highlights. The effect should be feminine and glamorous.

Whether or not the bride goes with the traditional look or the old Hollywood style, a constant theme will be jewellery with a vintage look. There will be a growing trend towards the unusual or a stand out piece to give the bride that special, unique feeling. The most popular choice for necklaces and earrings will remain the ever-fashionable pearls and diamonds with rhinestones and crystals as a less expensive but equally attractive alternative.

Mountings and chains will probably be of white gold, silver or other white metal in line with the trend away from yellow gold in recent years and will match the wedding and engagement rings. Most recently, however, yellow gold has begun to make something of a comeback. This has been attributed to the increasing value of the metal that has prompted some brides to want to show off the fact that their jewellery is expensive and obviously gold; white gold engagement rings can, of course, be difficult to identify at a glance. Gold-plated jewellery is also making a strong return.

But brides are not only concerned with jewellery to match their wedding dresses. They also need to make an impact with their going away outfit. To be fashionable and stylish, most brides will follow the general jewellery trends for the year.

This means that we can expect to see a good deal of handmade and custom-made jewellery that will give the bride the pride of knowing that she is wearing something entirely unique and individual to her. Bold and chunky jewellery will also feature strongly, continuing the trend of the last couple of years. Large cuff bracelets and heavy pendants in bold materials and colours will combine to make a fashion statement that will be hard to miss. Also, if the latest jewellery collections can be taken as a yardstick, jewellery inspired by natural themes will also be a major trend for 2012, so it will not be surprising to see brides adorned with jewellery featuring animals, plants or flowers.

All brides want to feel special on their wedding day. Their outfits lay the foundation for their look but the right jewellery will enhance their outfit for a simply stunning result. The perfect choice will result in the perfect day.
