The Super Green Hero, Jurdy, Launches School Assemblies and Jurdy Shore YouTube Series for Earth Day

The super green hero, Jurdy, launches "Earth Day every day" environmental assemblies and videos for education: a highly engaging, funny and unique green spokes-being comes to life around the country!

WILMINGTON, DE, April 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Three words come to mind when Jurdy enters a school: "Super. Green. Hero." Cartoonist Jenifer Jurden with her award-winning green character Jurdy launches the first of many "get grinning. get greening" environmental education programs to drive home the planet's plea for "Earth Day every day". Featuring Jurdy in the fur--that is the Jurdy mascot--this program is full of fun green lessons including laughs and lessons from this bigger-than- life mascot. Jurdy speaks to a wide audience for the Green effort by engaging us all to live a more eco-friendly life. With no identifiable age, race, culture or gender, Jurdy is universal in appeal and has won the hearts of kids of all ages and backgrounds. Now with the mascot, Jurdy expands fun green efforts to include relevant and timely topics such as recycling, tree planting, energy and water conservation just to name a few. Jurdy is also gaining international attention through the new YouTube series called "The Jurdy Shore" featuring Jurdy and college kids in a short hysterical clip about taking care of our beaches.

Last year, Jurdy dazzled the 4th grade students and teachers at Ocean City Elementary School, a Maryland and National Blue Ribbon School (not to mention all of the awards and recognition OCES has garnered since then). And with the fast-approaching Earth Day on April 22, Jurdy is moving on to schools in Pennsylvania, Delaware and beyond.

In anticipation of big green success, Jurden recently partnered with WH2P, a smart marketing and communications agency in Wilmington, Delaware, to help brand and market this new super green hero for a greener, healthier world.

Together, Jurdy and WH2P make a great green team as they have Jurdy making debuts at the Delaware Green and Healthy Living Expo, Earth Day New York events and the Earth Day event in Philadelphia sponsored by Big Green Earth Store where Jurdy greeting cards are exclusively sold in the southern Pennsylvania region. "Jurdy and I are very excited about partnering with WH2P and Big Green Earth Store - it's very important that we align our green efforts with those companies and organizations who have a green passion, vision and who appreciate how Jurdy makes a difference by speaking a universal language... the environment," says Jurden.

With humor and compassion, Jurdy brings a unique and psychologically intuitive vehicle to engage humans on a personal level by communicating environmental goals in an empathetic and comical manner. Jurdy teaches children and adults alike that they too have the power to champion the environment to any degree they can. Jurden states: "In Jurdy World, there is no effort too small... but the big ones sure are appreciated!" Jurdy has been catapulted into the green spotlight, providing cartoons about anything and everything green--from solar to carbons, from recycling to climate change. In print and on the web, Jurdy appears in a variety of magazines and websites, and has become the Green spokes-being for formidable green groups, corporations and summits throughout the world. When asked what Jurdy's goal is for the upcoming Earth Day, Jurden replied, "Jurdy's goal is to motivate people to celebrate Earth Day every day and to have fun doing it. It's about our schools, our families, our businesses and our community. We're all in this together... but now we have Jurdy as our advocate!"

Earth Day is Friday, April 22. As Jurdy puts it: "get grinning. get greening".
