The Swinden Group Advises Tropical Cyclone Bijli will Target Bangladesh and Myanmar Border Region

    EVERGREEN, CO, April 18, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Swinden Group, through their Severe Weather Advisories, is advising interests and travelers along the Bay of Bengal coastline from Orissa, India to the Bangladesh / Myanmar border region to be prepared for affects of Tropical Cyclone Bijli as it travels through the northern Bay of Bengal.

Tropical Cyclone Bijli, with sustained winds of 50 mph, is located off the coast of Orissa, India and will slightly strengthen while tracking to the northeast along the coastline of Orissa, West Bengal, Bangladesh before making landfall in the vicinity of the Bangladesh and Myanmar boarder region on Saturday. Storm warnings have been issued in Orissa and along the coast of Bangladesh.

"The immediate threat from Bijli will be the possibility of torrential rains causing widespread flooding along the northern Bay of Bengal coastline followed by damage to poorly constructed structures do to tropical storm force winds." explains Matthew Swinden, President of the Swinden Group. "If the storm continues to track northeastward, it will most likely make landfall in the vicinity of the Bangladesh and Myanmar border on Saturday. Damage to the infrastructure due to flooding, along with wind damage to poorly constructed buildings can also be a threat."
