/24-7PressRelease/ - SAN ANTONIO, TX, August 31, 2008 - The Tim and Bob Show - acclaimed by fans as "absolutely amazing" - is celebrating the release of its first CD, "Take It Outside", with a special performance on Saturday, October 18 at the new Casbeers at the Church.

Although the band has been performing professionally since 2005, The Tim and Bob Show's origins date back to 1999, when STEVE AND KATHY FEINSTEIN first met DON AND MARY LOU HYMEL. Since then, the band often has to explain why "Tim" and "Bob" were not also present at that meeting. "There's no Tim or Bob in the band, but we keep getting asked about them," jokes Don. "When we're asked, we usually just smile and say that it's a Zen thing."

The Feinsteins and Hymels quickly discovered that they shared an affinity for music. "Steve and Don both sang in bands back in the '70s," says Kathy, "so we started performing together not long after that, first as a duo with Steve and Don, and then with all four of us." The band's three- and four-part harmonies follow the tradition of popular vocal groups from the '60s, such as Peter, Paul and Mary. As Steve says, "L.A. had The Mamas and the Papas, and S.A. has 'The Husbands and the Wives'." Response from audiences to "The Husbands and the Wives" has been enthusiastic, and in 2008, The Tim and Bob Show was voted "Best Cover Band" in the San Antonio Current's first annual "Rammy" music awards.

As the band expanded, so did its repertoire; The Tim and Bob Show's setlist now includes songs from the '50s through the present, as well as material composed by the band members. With "Take It Outside", the band is now focusing on their own material; the CD features 12 original songs. "We've been introducing original material for a while now," says Don, "and the fan response has been encouraging. Once we finished a representative group of originals, we decided that the time had come to take our own material into the recording studio." "It's a leap of faith for us," adds Mary Lou, "but with each song we debut for our fans, we're more convinced that they'll embrace our originals as much as they do our covers."

The Tim and Bob Show will perform songs from their debut CD, "Take It Outside", at Casbeers at the Church (1150 South Alamo) on Saturday, October 18 at 5PM. The band will be performing on the Casbeers patio, weather permitting; in case of rain, they will be performing indoors in the caf . For the event, CDs will be on sale for only $13. "We are looking forward to having The Tim and Bob Show at Casbeers," says Steve Silbas, the venue's owner. "From what I've heard, they're a great band to listen to when you just want to relax with friends and family, enjoy a great meal, and have a glass of wine."

A portion of the proceeds from the event's CD sales will benefit Pet Pals of Texas (www.petpalsoftexas.org), a non-profit organization that provides pet care services for people with disabilities and the elderly. As Kathy notes, the band has a personal connection to this charity and its founder: "Vicki Jurney-Taylor is a friend of ours who has Muscular Dystrophy. She started Pet Pals to help disabled and elderly pet owners who need assistance taking care of their pets. We've performed benefits for this organization in the past, and we're proud to continue supporting it. So, even though our pets won't be with us that night, they'll still be there in spirit."

Another organization The Tim and Bob Show is proud to support with its membership is the Texas Music Coalition (TMC); since October has been proclaimed Texas Music Month, the band is showing its support for TMC by making its CD release party a part of the month-long celebration.
