/24-7PressRelease/ - Jersey City, NJ, July 13, 2008 - The Twelfth Window (ISBN 978-1-4343-1486-4, AuthorHouse, 2008) by J. M. Norwood has been named a finalist for the Foreword Magazine Book of the Year Award. The Twelfth Window is the first of seven in the planned Cychaea Series. The series has been described by some critics as the next big fantasy series after Harry Potter. Set in the 1980's in a fantasy suburb, Norwood has written The Twelfth Window to tell about the relationship between God and men, showing how the Bible is really a love story. The ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award is one of the most prestigious literary awards and is awarded annually at BookExpo America.

"I am very honored and humbled to see The Twelfth Window be honored by the publishing industry," said J.M. Norwood. "The Twelfth Window and the other books in the series have been a labor of love that I have been working on for over twenty years. The message is a simple one that is as old as time, but more important than ever for our children - the relationship between man and God and God's love. But rather than preach in my book, I wanted it told in a way that everyone can relate and enjoy.

Everyone has always heard the old saying 'what happens in high school stays with you forever' and in The Twelfth Window, Norwood weaves that saying into the central theme of her book. The book is the story of how Lisa Chess and her friends came to witness the realization of an ancient prophecy and fulfill their destinies. In the book Heaven and Earth truly collide. Norwood has written an allegory about the most important relationship that has ever existed - that between man and God. She started writing The Twelfth Window and other books in the Cychaea series in notebooks in the 1980's when she first began having the vision for the ground breaking series. The book and the following books are truly a Christian alternative for the Harry Potter series. Norwood's own personal story is no less compelling than that of J.K. Rowling; by day she works promoting hip hop records and by night labors on her books.

The ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award, considered one of the most prestigious literary award, was established to bring increased attention from librarians and booksellers to the literary achievements of independent publishers and their authors. The award receives over 30,000 submissions for the Book of the Year Award every year.
