/24-7PressRelease/ - TEMPERANCEVILLE, VA - March 05, 2006 - The Writersville Gang, an online writing Yahoo! Group, is proud to announce the release of their first e-book titled, "A Funny Thing Happened...On the Way to Getting Published" in honor of Read-an-eBook Week (March 5-11).

Fifteen authors have come together to share their favorite publishing stories in an easy-to-read 71-page e-book which they are offering free. They believe that by sharing how they got their start in publication, it will help other writers in their own quest to become published authors.

"This is so totally exciting," says Dorothy Thompson, moderator of The Writer's Life, an online writing Yahoo! Group and home of The Writersville Gang. "The whole production end of it was such a learning experience. We plan on writing more e-books and giving them away for free in the near future."

The members who participated in their first ever e-book collaboration include: Marilyn Celeste Morris, Janet Elaine Smith, Jill Maser, Barbara M. Hodges, Linda Rucker, Joyce Anthony, Jen Nipps, Dorothy Thompson, Cate Cavanagh, Debi K.L. Markee, Barbara Williamson-Wood, Mark McConchie, Denise Kincy, Kim Robinson and Lea Docken.

Read-an-eBook Week was created by Canadian author Rita Toews several years ago when she submitted her request to Chase's Calendar of Events. The idea is for e-book publishers and authors to bring awareness of their industry to those who are familiar with it. Now that e-books are being offered by local libraries, it is a great opportunity for library users to try an e-book instead of purchasing it over the internet.
