TheIndie.biz Socializes Music with Frindie

Frindie is a social music app that allows users to tell their friends, on all of the major social networks--Facebook, MySpace, Google, etc.--what music they are listening to, buying and downloading.

NEW YORK, NY, May 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TheIndie.biz is putting a new and unique spin on social networking with its new Frindie social music application.

Frindie is a social media-based tool that allows users to tell their friends, on all of the major social networks--Facebook, MySpace, Google, etc.--what music they are listening to, buying and downloading with just one click of a button. It is based on a simple concept that like-minded people--friends--tend to have like-minded tastes in music.

Unlike other systems that electronically filter and make suggestions based on algorithms, or what strangers have chosen, Frindie shows users exactly what, and who, their friends are listening to, making it more likely that users will find music they will like and enjoy. However, although information is being exchanged, TheIndie.biz's Frindie is opt-in, so privacy is never compromised because users have control over which music choices they share.

TheIndie.biz and Frindie were created by CEO Damon Cleveland to help independent artists showcase and distribute their music to a global audience.

"The idea came from seeing my own father, a talented musician, travel all over the world playing his music to vast audiences," Cleveland explains. "Yet when it came to selling records, he would've sold many more if only he had received more airplay and more people had access to his music. With TheIndie.biz, my goal is to help independent artists overcome that very basic challenge, and Frindie just takes it to a whole other level, exponentially expanding the opportunities artists have of sharing their music, and fans have of listening to some incredible bands with unique sounds."

Bands can also use Frindie to distribute music by leveraging the potential of massive online audiences through the power of social networks. Frindie allows independent bands and musicians to find new fans, build more solid fan bases, and exponentially create buzz.

Registration is free for bands and fans. Also, visit our YouTube channel for simple introductory videos to Frindie http://www.youtube.com/theindiebiz.
