Theresa M. Smith Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

Ms. Smith excels in managing all aspects of athletic activities, as well as planning, budgeting, financing and coaching volleyball. The highlight of her career was getting her volleyball team to the Division 4 state championships in 2007.



    /24-7PressRelease/ - San Jose, CA, April 30, 2008, Theresa M. Smith, Director of Athletics for The Harker School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence as an athletic director, teaching physical education and coaching volleyball.

As director, Ms. Smith is responsible for teaching physical education to sixth grade students. She excels in managing all aspects of athletic activities, as well as planning, budgeting, financing and coaching volleyball. She stays current with the trends in her profession by attending conferences and workshops and coaching clinics. The highlight of her career was getting her volleyball team to the Division 4 state championships in 2007.

Ms. Smith has completed her IMPACT certification, the CAP1 certification course, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. She participated in the U.S.A. Amateur Olympic Volleyball team and won a gold medal in Australia. She received a national award for being a "Double-Goal Coach" from the Positive Coaching Alliance and received the "San Jose Mercury Volleyball Coach of the Year" Award. She also coaches for the Stingray Volleyball Club. Ms. Smith aspires to help develop a strong athletic program at Harker and lead her volleyball team to many successful seasons.
