/24-7PressRelease/ - RESTON, VA, January 30, 2008 - Tigerlily Foundation is excited to announce that it now has a presence on YouTube. View our vlogs at (http://www.youtube.com/user/TigerlilyFoundation). Due to the widespread use of the Internet, and specifically You Tube, around the world, Tigerlily Foundation saw this as an excellent medium with which to disseminate the message of breast cancer education, awareness and advocacy. Every month, we will be posting vlogs on the You Tube site, providing our viewers with valuabe information about breast cancer.
In another area, Tigerlily Foundation has joined Delphi Health Products, in support of Black History Month, via a press release issued by Delphi Health Products, on the importance of Health Histories. The Founders of Delphi Health Products (www.delphihealthproducts.com) Dorothy Breininger and Debby Bitticks specialize in Intergenerational Organizing - helping families preserve their health histories and plan for a safe and healthy future . Their BioBinder Cherished Memories-The Story of My Life is a fun and easy way that families can document their life stories and those of their loved ones while celebrating Black History Month.
"It is very important to document families' health histories for future generations and for those who may currently be at risk for certain diseases. As a breast cancer survivor and activist, a health advocate, and the mother of a young daughter, I see tremendous value in creating a legacy of good health...and that starts with encouraging the recording of genetic/hereditary predispositions towards certain illnesses and diseases. We can benefit future generations by empowering them to be their best health advocate and equipping them with knowledge that can prolong and save lives. It is also particularly important for Black women and young women to document their health histories, because Black women and young women tend to have more aggressive breast cancers and higher mortality rates. Documenting this disease could perhaps save the life of someone in the future", Maimah Karmo, Founder and President of Tigerlily Foundation..
