The study was carried out by IRIS Software who created a helpful inforgraphic showing just
how much time would you save if you used payroll software. The study looked at a number of payroll tasks that a manager of any small business would carry out including making calculations, keeping up to date with changes to payroll related legislation, creating reports and of course dealing with paperwork. Comparing how long it would take a manager to complete these tasks manually and with computerised payroll software, it was clear that the computerised methods can save almost 10 minutes per employee. When multiplied to more employees, payroll software can help the manager improve efficiency considerably, in the case of a small business with 50 employees the saving would be a staggering seven hours and fifty five minutes.
