NASHVILLE, TN, March 17, 2010 /Cambridge Who's Who/ --Dr. Toiya Kristen Finley, Writer and Editor for Schnoodle Media, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in fiction writing.

A storyteller from the age of 3, Dr. Toiya Kristen Finley unceremoniously began her writing career by dictating her stories to her mother and grandmother. Three decades later, she has found a wider audience for her work, building a reputation for herself as a fictionist. As freelance writer and editor and the sole proprietor of Schnoodle Media, she researches and generates ideas for short stories and novels, with a particular focus on the genres of speculative fiction and slipstream fiction. Dr. Finley's gifts for fantasy have also helped her find a place in the gaming industry, where she develops concepts with the hope of one day bringing a popular game to life through animation or CGI in movie theaters. She attributes her success to her open-mindedness and diverse education and to the support of her family.

Dr. Finley received her Ph.D. in Literature and Creative Writing in 2003 from Binghamton University. She earned her Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing, with a minor in Linguistics, in 2000 from Iowa State University and her Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Study in 1998 from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, from which she graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Finley was a Clark Fellow at Binghamton University and is a member of the Writers Mafia and the International Game Developers Association.

Honors of which Dr. Finley is a recipient include a Pearl Hogrefe Grants-in-Aid in Creative Writing, a Quentin G. Johnson Award in Linguistics and a Walker Award for Excellence in Literature, all from Iowa State University. She was also a Founders' Day Scholar at NYU. Dr. Finley aspires to publish her first major novel and break into game writing.
