/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Toniann J. Gelardo, Behavior Specialist for Not-for-Profit, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in mental healthcare/counseling.
Inspired by her experiences growing up with a mentally retarded cousin, Ms. Gelardo decided to devote her career to helping people with special needs. She has since built a reputation as an expert in behavioral therapy, bringing 10 years of professional experience to non-profit organizations that specialize in psychotherapy and behavioral therapy. As a behavior specialist, she works with special-needs patients, with a particular focus on those exhibiting difficult behaviors. Ms. Gelardo finds deep personal fulfillment in giving a leg up to people who need it the most and is proud to be consulting with organizations that take in everyone, regardless of how severe their behavior may be. She attributes her success to hailing from a loving family, which has left in her a desire to give the same to others, and her mentor, Dr. Joseph Coppolo.
Ms. Gelardo has currently put her Ph.D. in Clinical Education, Medicine and Behavioral Therapy on hold in order to complete her 2nd Master's at Long Island University in Mental Health Counseling (Licensureship). She earned her Master of Science in Psychology in 2009 from the University of Phoenix and her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Social Studies in 2005 from the College of Staten Island and Metropolitan College of New York.
