/24-7PressRelease/ - NEWARK, NJ, November 20, 2007 - Tony Senatore's introduction to music began when he was 5 years old when his father decided to start teaching him the trumpet and some basics of music theory. The young Senatore found he had perfect pitch and he progressed into teen years playing the trumpet. By the time he was 16 he discovered a lifelong friend, the bass.

Tony has gradually turned into a trailblazer for his instrument and in particular the 12 String Bass. He stands ready to make history in releasing the very first instructional DVD on the 12 String Bass with A 12-String Bass X-Ploration.

Senatore has been featured in Mike Varney's Spotlight column in Guitar Player Magazine, recorded for Mr. Varney as a sideman on the 1991 Shrapnel Release entitled Midnight Drive, by virtuoso guitarist Stephen Ross, with special guests Joe Nevolo on Drums (Greg Howe, Mahogany Rush) and Jens Johanssen (Yngwie Malmsteen, Ronnie James Dio) on Keyboards. Other publications that Tony has appeared in include Down Beat Magazine, and an article by Jay Lustig for the Aquarian. He also has been the bassist at Visionary Sound Studios since 1993 and released a highly acclaimed solo album titled Holyland and most recently had the honor of being a featured as the Indie Spotlight on MuzikReviews.com. He currently is the bassist in the Genya Ravan Band.

A 12-String Bass X-Ploration features Tony Senatore (fretted and fretless 12 string bass guitars), Manolo Badrena (percussion), Van Romaine (drums), and special guest Percy Jones on fretless bass.
Since its inception in 1978, there has been very little information about the 12 string bass and Senatore has made his mission to change that. On the DVD Tony illustrates how the 12 string bass can be used as a lead instrument featuring it in three music videos-*Holyland*, "Life and Times And Times", and "Shapla." Each track shows the viewer different aspects and nuances of the instruments unique capabilities.

Tony has hopes that this groundbreaking DVD will shed light on some concepts that are important to him as an artist, but more importantly set the stage for realizing the full potential of the instrument through the DVD. More information A 12-String Bass X-Ploration can be found on Tony's website along with some preview videos.
