Records show that the 25-year old victim worked as Assistant Parts Manager for an auto manufacturing company in Calabasas City. According to the victim, she shared an office with one of the supervisors.
Since the day she started work, the victim claimed she was continuously subjected to repeated acts of unwanted sexual harassment from her supervisor. On one occasion, he even demanded that the victim unbutton her shirt. On some other occasions, her supervisor also made inappropriate comments about her appearance and even caught the male supervisor staring at her.
In December 2007, while walking back to her desk, the victim saw her supervisor closely following her, with his hands up in the air, making a gesture like he was going to smack and grab her buttocks. The incident was witnessed by a colleague.
Eventually, the victim reported the incident to the manager. She also did not come to work after her report due to severe distress and concern for safety. As a result, the supervisor was terminated from work.
Feeling ashamed and humiliated, the victim was forced to resign from work on January 2008. She felt unable to regain her composure after the incident; she had to undergo psychiatric treatment.

The victim filed complaints of sexual discrimination and harassment with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and received her right to sue notice on April 25, 2008.
