Within 90 days after enrollment, employers must begin to implement the program for all new hires, verifying their work eligibility within three business days of the date of hire. Existing employees that are assigned to work under a federal contract will also have to be verified within 90 days after the date of the contractor's enrollment in E-Verify or within 30 calendar days of the employee's assignment to the contract, whichever date is later. The clause mandating the use of E-Verify must also be used in subcontracts over $3,000 for services or construction.
