- SAN FRANCISCO, CA - July 24, 2008 - Tracker I-9 paperless Form I-9 management software has been certified to communicate with the Federal Government's E-Verify employment eligibility verification program using the secure web services access method. The qualification test validates to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that Tracker I-9 software is capable of sending compliant encrypted messages to the E-Verify server to perform the initial verification, referral process, and case resolution. Only software that passes the qualification test is allowed to verify employment eligibility of newly-hired employees through the online E-Verify system operated by DHS in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA).
Participation in the E-Verify program is voluntary for most U.S. companies, but recent legislative and executive actions at both federal and state level have mandated its use for a growing number of businesses and other employers.
Tracker I-9 software allows employers to electronically prepare, sign and store Form I-9 employment eligibility verification forms. By integrating Tracker I-9 with the E-Verify web services, new hires can be instantly submitted to E-Verify securely over the Internet in real-time. Tracker I-9 features also include email alerting, audit and reporting capabilities designed to enhance corporate oversight of workforce compliance and accuracy of employment records. Unlike other Form I-9 systems, Tracker I-9 can be installed on the organization's internal server to maximize data security. Tracker I-9 can also be hosted remotely at a third-party site (law firm or other designated agent) or through Tracker I-9's secure hosting facility.
