NASHVILLE, TN, August 13, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TrackPoint Systems, LLC the leading provider of asset management hardware and custom-engineered software solutions including TrackPoint's patented solar-powered Tr/IPSTM device that revolutionized untethered asset management by providing real-time actionable data has announced the introduction of TempZone, a device designed for wireless monitoring of the various food or dry storage compartment temperatures at schools, restaurants and hospitals.

TempZone is an economical solution that will monitor the temperature of coolers, freezers or dry storage areas wirelessly and report the data to TrackPoint's WebCONNECTTM portal or send important temperature alerts via text messages or to email accounts. This system will capture the data needed to assist end users in ensuring FDA Food Guidelines are met and help prevent spoilage due to a malfunctioning refrigeration unit. TempZone is a standalone system that installs in minutes and does not require any connections to existing equipment or systems.

TempZone is comprised of two main components, the Multi-compartment Temperature Monitor, "MTM" and the Temperature Sensors. The MTM is a wireless receiver that monitors temperature sensors as they report. The device collects the data in real-time and broadcasts it over the Verizon data network to TrackPoint's web portal. Each system is pre-configured to communicate directly out of the box, simply power them on and they automatically report to the website. The MTM plugs directly into a standard power outlet and uses a battery as a backup in the event of a power outage.

The temperature sensor is a wireless device that checks the temperature once per minute and reports information to the MTM. The sensors are battery powered and do not require an outside power source and can be placed on the wall or shelf inside of the refrigerated compartment. The sensors read the ambient temperature, which is not subject to quick temperature changes that occur when the cooler doors are opened.

TempZone has many advantages over other solutions. No network cables needed, since the system is wireless and uses the Verizon data network, there are no cables to run. TempZone does not use the traditional Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable as means of transmitting data. TempZone eliminates the typical aggravation the IT Department goes through when implementing a new technology.

TempZone still sends data and temperature updates even when the location's internet is down. No set-up or configuration as each system comes preconfigured right out of the box. No long learning curve as even the most novice computer users will benefit from the TempZone system. Text and email alerts can be setup to automatically to be sent directly to the end user's cellphone when the temperature of a compartment is out of the "safe zone." When temperatures return to the "safe zone" a resolved message is sent to signal everything is OK.
