/24-7PressRelease/ -- Skilled workers are far more likely to retain jobs through the global economic gloom, while unskilled British workers will not only be under greatest threat of redundancy, but could find their benefits penalised if plans announced by the government are realised.

Measures to enhance the skills of the British workforce include 'a duty on the unemployed to have their skills needs assessed and to acquire skills', with those refusing to adapt and re-train, finding their benefit payments are penalised accordingly.
Mr. Telensky added, "I'm delighted the government is backing initiatives to encourage British workers to train for skills. Skilled workers are the backbone of the British workforce and training for skills now will stand them in good stead in the future".
