TranslateMedia's clients benefit from collaborative BSEN 15038:2006 compliant workflow model
TranslateMedia, a translations agency with offices in New York, London, Paris and Brussels, has updated its proprietary workflow software to include a process model that specifically meets and exceeds the requirements of the BSEN 15038:2006 Standard for Provision of Translation Services.

/24-7PressRelease/ - Paris, France, August 20, 2008 - This new addition to the company's service offering allows clients to include their own reviewers within a customisable translation sign-off process. Client-side reviewers can provide feedback and comments on terminological preferences within the system, in an ordered and streamlined process which also automatically updates the clients' translation memory. The information provided in review is recorded alongside the rest of the client's information in a knowledge centre managed by project managers and shared with translators and proofreaders through a collaborative web portal.

Operations Manager, Matt Train, says, "Many clients want to centralise their translation requirements through a sole supplier, to benefit from streamlined processes and the associated cost-savings. In our experience, however, we find that a significant number of clients prefer to keep the responsibility for signing off copy in-house, with in-country staff or representatives who are intimately involved with their business. This allows them to check that the work matches their existing literature in terms of key message and terminology, but ultimately means that there is an extra costly and inefficient step in the workflow that starts when the translated copy is delivered."

"We have responded to this by creating an optional workflow step that allows us to bring the review and sign-off procedure within our workflow process, automating key tasks along the way. This has two major benefits for clients; it automates the transfer of documents to reviewers once the translation is complete, and formalises sign-off and feedback processes. This means that turnaround times can improve, and that the team that normally manages this process has more time to concentrate on the key elements of their roles, rather than focussing on what can be mundane admin tasks. Instead, we give them a simple online tracking tool so they can check the status of their project in a few clicks. The signed-off translation is delivered to them by email once complete."

"Including client-side reviewers within our workflow means we can offer them simple but extremely useful feedback tools. This means that we can ensure that knowledge building is consistent and positive. This model has been successfully rolled out in various accounts, including our clients within the linguistic process and offering them the benefits of our experience with workflow efficiency tools."

"It's great to have a workflow platform that matches our key business objectives; it is fast, professional, discreet, flexible and incredibly efficient."
