/24-7PressRelease/ - CHICAGO, IL, June 02, 2008 - On August 5, 2008 Trey Songz & Noonie Ward will hold an outside Concert in Chicago Illinois as an attempt to reach out to our youth and their parents.
In light of the continuing violence involving our youth, Noonie Ward & Trey Songz are looking to make a difference. They are calling on corporations, small businesses and the entertainment community to help combat the cause. "Songz for Peace" will include other celebrities such as recording artists like Twista and professional athletes such Eddie Curry, Bobby Simmons and a host of others. The campaign will reach out to local youth organizations for support as well. All children will receive gift bags including promotional materials from our sponsors and school supplies. Parents will also receive gift bags containing useful information and resources. Sponsorship opportunities are currently available upon request.
In addition to the main event on August 5, 2008 there will be other events leading up to the concert. The first event is the "Hoopz for Peace" basketball tournament & a Celebrity Softball Game tentatively scheduled for Sunday August 3, 2008. The following night Noonie Ward will hold a "Poetic Justice" poetry slam & book release party for his long anticipated novel "Gangster with a Heart of Gold." He will also hold a book signing during "Songz for Peace."

ABOUT SONGZ FOR PEACE: Songz for Peace is a campaign formed in 2008 by Atlantic Recording artist Trey Songz & Chicago legend Noonie Ward as an attempt to save our children one city a time. Being that Chicago is like a second home to the R&B sensation, he decided to join forces with Noonie Ward to aid in the fight against violence in our city. Trey plans to continue supporting the cause and is asking that others become involved as well.
