The detailed hour-long presentation and interactive Q&A session at North Carolina State University's McKimmon Center covered a range of important investment strategy and financial planning issues specific to women.
"Statistically speaking, women live longer than men, and have a longer investment horizon which brings with it unique challenges and opportunities," Richardson said, adding that additional factors - including women making less than men, going in and out of the workforce to have children, and having smaller social security benefits - result in bigger long-term financial needs for women with smaller resources.
The lively question and answer period included many questions about emerging markets as well as queries about medical savings accounts and pension options.
