Trina T. Nelson Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Crime Analysis

    BADEN, ONTARIO, CANADA, February 1, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trina T. Nelson, Crime Analyst for Waterloo Regional Police Service, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in crime analysis.

A psychology major in university, Ms. Nelson started her career working with children with behavioral disorders and those who had been exposed to abuse. Her network included those in the law enforcement agencies, and she soon realized the importance of crime analysis. She chose to study the field and went on to become a civilian crime analyst with the Waterloo Regional Police Service, a position she has held for the past 13 years.

Ms. Nelson's areas of expertise include memory and the analysis of facts; she uses these talents when locating, collecting and preserving evidence for law enforcement agencies. Her career also entails researching and detecting patterns of crime behavior reported to link to other perpetrators and/or crimes committed. Ms. Nelson acts as a liaison between law enforcement agents, attorneys, laboratory technicians and other investigators.

Ms. Nelson graduated from St. Jerome's University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and attributes her success to her psychology degree, which has helped her formulate behavior patterns. She maintains affiliations with the International Association of Crime Analysts and the South Western Ontario Chapter of the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts. As the years progress, she plans to become a certified crime analyst and pursue consulting opportunities.
