/24-7PressRelease.com/ - EDMONTON, ALBERTA, May 20, 2005 ~ Cheryl Kaye Tardif, Canadian mystery author and creator of A.F.T.E.R. Canada (Authors For Tsunami-Earthquake Relief) will release her latest novel, The River, this coming August. A percentage of the proceeds from The River will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross.

Earlier this year, Tardif organized a group of Edmonton area authors who joined together after the tsunami and earthquake tragedy in Asia to raise funds for the Canadian Red Cross and the survivors of the tsunami. The authors autographed and sold copies of their books, with 50% of the proceeds going to the Canadian Red Cross. The event was covered by CFRN TV, Global TV, A-Channel TV and CHED radio. A.F.T.E.R. Canada was recently renamed 'Authors For Tragic Event Relief' to encompass all fundraising needs. Cheryl Kaye Tardif was proud to be part of the fundraiser, and provided copies of her mystery novels, Whale Song and Divine Intervention.

About The River
The River, set to be released in late August, is a terrifying action-packed techno-thriller inspired by true events of headless corpses washed up on the shores of the Nahanni River. In the novel a woman travels to Canada's Northwest Territories to find her father who was presumed dead. What she finds instead will make her question everything and everyone that she knows. The River asks: 'How far have we gone, until we've gone too far?'

Cheryl Kaye Tardif's mystery novels are sold online at Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Indigo.ca, BarnesandNoble.com and more. They are also available at most Chapters, Coles and Indigo bookstores in Edmonton; McNally Robinson Books in Calgary; and select Chapters and Coles bookstores in Victoria, BC.

Cheryl Kaye Tardif is always available for interviews for TV, radio and print.
