Her responsibilities as a physician assistant include offering first aid for lacerations, sprains, fractures, eye injuries, conjunctivitis, chest and abdominal pain, acute illness, food poisoning, allergic reactions, sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, nose bleeds and urinary infections.

Miss Houston received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in 2007 and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Shenandoah University in 2003. A member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, she attributes her success to her parents who taught her and showed her the value of education. She became involved in her profession because she felt that a career in physician assistance would give her a great career in the healthcare industry in a relatively short span of time.
