/24-7PressRelease/ - San Anselmo, CA, August 28, 2008 - The UBS Manufacturing team is partnering with local communities to build critical worker housing in Marin County, California.
The effort was forged after speaking with local officials and critical employees (fire fighters, law enforcement officers, and public works employees), who are forced to live out of the area due to the high costs of housing. "The increase in natural and human disasters has created a growing call for local housing solutions for critical workers," stated Wallace K. Shepherd, Sr. of UBS Manufacturing.
The UBS Manufacturing team will construct 15 units in its initial pilot phase, using its patented system. As a result of the low cost of production, the initial project is expected to be fully privately funded, with a special program set in place for the eligible staff. Final project terms are still in negotiation, with construction expected to begin in the Spring of 2009.
Remarking on the future prospects for the project, Shepherd says "the team anticipates that this project will forge a new model and help greatly in bringing critical staff closer to their jobs".
