(www.ucgrp.com) has just unveiled VAULT400 Disaster Recovery and High Availability Managed Service Offerings for the IBM System i (AS/400, Power System) and Intel (Windows) Servers. These new tiered managed service offerings complement VAULT400 online backup and provide hardware RTO (Recovery Time Objective) options in durations ranging from 72 hours, 24 hours, 12 hours and less than one.
Combining VAULT400- a licensed online backup solution, with managed service hardware facilitates RTO options that are very cost effective and attractive for mid-market organizations.
With these new offerings UCG extends to its customers access to a remote, duplicate System i or Windows server environment for fast recovery. The differences in the tiered recovery options are based on whether the client has contracted for a dedicated mirrored partition or for UCG technicians to assist in creating a duplicate environment when it is needed.
According to Jim Kandrac, UCG's president, "In 2006 VAULT400 filled the gap between tape & H/A with online backup. Now in 2009, VAULT400 has closed the gap with VAULT400 DR and H/A Managed Service Options. Our customers asked for it and UCG is pleased to deliver."
UCG was formed in 1987 and has served 650+ end user clients. Prior to the introduction of VAULT400's Online Backup Service in 2006, organizations relied strictly on tape or made sizable investments in High Availability technologies.

VAULT400 is a managed service for System i users as well as Windows, Oracle, SQL, and AIX users.
VAULT400 backs up an entire organization's business-critical data to VAULT400's secure data center so that data is always available and accessible for immediate online recovery. The service conducts automatic backups without human intervention and lets administrators manage multiple online backup and recovery processes from a single Windows workstation.
