Based in the Sterling Heights office, Southern practices in the Forensic, Litigation, and Valuation Services Group (FLVS) of the firm. He provides litigation, business valuation and expert witness services to his clients. He is involved in all stages of the engagement process including case evaluation, data and statistical research, analysis of legal and IRS rulings, quality control, and reporting. Southern is a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan. He is also Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and carries the prestigious Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation from the American Society of Appraisers. Southern has broad experience in accounting, taxation, business valuation, litigation support, real estate, and computer modeling engagement. He has over ten years of experience working on special projects that include lease audit analysis, customized computer modeling of projected financial statements for merger and acquisitions, audio/visual presentations for training, litigation support, and production process improvements.
Southern received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a Minor in Management Information Systems from Oakland University. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Society of Appraisers and of the Institute of Management Accountants
Based in the Farmington Hills office, Tigges is an active member of the firm's Tax Department. He is a licensed CPA in the States of Michigan and Ohio. He is a member of the firm's Corporate Tax Group providing guidance on Tax compliance issues, Federal, State and local tax planning, Multiple State apportionment and compliance, consulting services, business forecasts and projections, Strategic planning and Franchise and Franchisee operations. Tigges also has extensive experience working with middle market companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, real-estate, franchise, telecommunications, professional staffing, retail and distribution industries. He specializes in clients with multiple related entities all structured to maximize the client's tax benefits and preserve wealth.
Tigges received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Western Michigan University. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, National Society of Financial Service Professionals, Detroit Chapter Society of Financial Service Professionals, Detroit Chapter Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the Detroit Economic Club.
