SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- McDavid, the world's leading manufacturer of sports medical products, sports protective and protective athletic apparel, is outfitting many of the nation's best high school football players.

The company's next stop: San Francisco.

The Scout.com/Fox Sports Regional Combine, sponsored by McDavid, will be held Saturday at Kezar Stadium. More than 250 heralded underclassmen have been invited to participate in the day-long session that will test players in various speed, power, strength and agility drills.

Analysts use the results for college recruiting purposes, while McDavid uses the opportunity to further strengthen and display its innovative technologies that prevent injury and enhance performance of athletes and active people of all ages.

"It's a great opportunity for McDavid to get its gear in front of the kids, their coaches and parents and help educate and have an influence on what they are wearing," said Patrick Hill, project manager at Fox Sports. "And when we go back into these schools during the school year, we can further familiarize coaches and players with McDavid products."

McDavid will provide each participant with a fitted compression shirt. School administrators, coaches and parents can also see examples of the company's products, highlighted by the HEXPAD compression girdle, which features independently positioned hex-shaped shock-absorbing pads designed to be lightweight, breathable and flexible for the thighs, hips and tailbone. The product is worn by players on youth, collegiate and professional levels in football, lacrosse and soccer, as well as in the NBA by superstars such as Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat.

Several of Scout.com's Top 300 prospects nationally, and many more from the West and Northwest, are expected to attend the combine, including five-star defensive end Chris Martin of Oakland, Calif., and running back Marquis Miller of Manteca, Calif. The combine is the 12th and final session nationally of 2009.

ABOUT McDAVID
The company's roots can be traced back to 1969, when Dr. Robert F. McDavid designed and developed what was to become the first widely used lateral protective knee brace in football. From a basement in Bellwood, IL, to its production facility and global headquarters in Woodridge, IL, McDavid manufactures and markets over 400 different innovative products for athletes and active people of all ages. McDavid is the most widely used and recommended brand of braces among sports medical professionals and the industry leader in sports medical products, technical performance athletic wear and consumer merchandising.
