Union Process Builds Custom Particle Size Reduction Equipment Suitable for Extremely Dense Material

    AKRON, OH, January 29, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Union Process, known globally as a manufacturer of particle size reduction and dispersing equipment, as well as a supplier of grinding media and material characterization services for a broad range of research and industrial applications, has custom built an SD100 Attritor for a customer processing a very dense material.

Chuck Major, Sales Manager for the company stated, "Our customer's application required a very robust mill that could accommodate the very dense material they are processing. Therefore, this dry grinding mill required a larger motor, reducer and shaft than we would normally build for a mill of this size."

Because the customer is discharging the material into two different 55-gallon drums, Union Process was required to build a heavy-duty riser upon which the SD100 sits. The mill features a dual discharge (front and back) so the material can be discharged into both drums. The dual discharge configuration allows the product to exit more quickly, increasing turnaround time for each batch.
