/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Dr. Upendra Parvathaneni, Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the University of Washington Medical Center, has been recognized by
Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare education.
With more than 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Parvathaneni specializes in teaching resident physicians and treating patients with head and neck cancers, skin cancers, and neutron treatment for salivary gland malignancies. He became involved in his profession because of his love for humanity and desire to alleviate suffering. He is a recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from the Department of Radiation Oncology of the University of Washington Medical Center in 2007, the Best Outgoing Student Award from Annamalai University in 1993 and the National Merit Award in India in 1985. He considers teaching and practicing medicine to be the most fulfilling aspects of his career and attributes his success to his love for his profession and the support he receives from his colleagues.
Dr. Parvathaneni received his MD in India and is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. He is also a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and supports the American Heart Association and National Park Service. He aspires to become a leader in head and neck radiotherapy in the future.
