Utah's Leading Family Safety Expert Releases Article About Top 15 Self Defense Myths

Self Defense and safety expert releases new article about the World's Top 15 Biggest Self Defense Myths.
SANDY, UT, July 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "Utah's Leading Family Safety Expert," Brett Lechtenberg, recently released an article about the Top 15 Self Defense Myths. Brett Lechtenberg is Utah's foremost expert on personal and family safety. He has dedicated his time and talents to teaching about family safety and personal security. Brett has trained thousands of ordinary people, both locally and across the nation, to empower themselves both physically and mentally as they learn the safest and most effective methods of personal protection.

When asked why he was making an article about the Top 15 Self Defense Myths public, Brett said, "This report has real facts for real people. It includes truths about self defense that everyone should know because safety is first last and always. Safety is everyone's responsibility."

So what are some of the Top 15 Self Defense Myths? Here are just two of the self defense myths that Brett lists in his report (to see the whole report visit brettlechtenberg.com):

Self Defense Myth: "The eyes are the window to the soul and you can tell what a person is going to do by watching their eyes. - This is a total bunch of garbage. The eyes are not the window to the soul when it comes to violence. Remember that it is a criminal's job to be deceitful and come up with ways to trick their victims. Criminals do a great job of lying with their eyes and disguising their actions."

Self Defense Myth: "If somebody knows more about self defense or fighting than I do, then I won't be able to defend myself because they will know what I am going to do. This is false - one person does not know what another person will do unless you telegraph or tell them what you are going to do. Basic science dictates that if you strike hard and fast without telegraphing you have a very good chance of being victorious."

Brett Lechtenberg has been teaching personal safety and security for over 20 years. He is the owner of Personal Mastery Martial Arts and iLoveKickboxingSandy in Sandy, Utah and actively works to help his martial arts students and kickboxing clients learn how to protect themselves and their loved ones. He holds frequent seminars and workshops on personal safety for his students and their families.

Brett has appeared on Good Day Utah, channel 13 news broadcasts, and channel 4 news broadcasts. Brett has been a speaker and presenter for local chambers of commerce groups, local schools, local Exchange Clubs, Draper and Salt Lake City code enforcement officers, the Arizona State Process Servers Association, Delta Airlines, American Express, Citigroup, and many more local community groups and churches.
