MILTON, ON, April 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- VaproShield Canada has established offices in Milton, Ontario to act as headquarters for all marketing and sales activities in Canada for the company's high performance permeable materials for building envelopes.

"VaproShield products have been used successfully in the United States for nearly a decade in both new and retrofit construction ranging from multi-million-dollar airports and hospitals to high-rise towers and single-family dwellings," said David Hales, national sales manager for VaproShield Canada.

Based on its success in America, VaproShield has established a relationship with Enercorp in Canada to sell its complete line of building membranes, accessories and systems to specifiers, contractors, architects, and building owners in every major Canadian city.

"We will have a strong education and consulting component in our sales activities because the construction market isn't fully aware of the benefits that come with using highly permeable membranes, particularly in areas of Canada that receive a lot of precipitation," Hales said.

"In all climates, moisture vapor will move by passing through the building's envelope," Hales said. "Our membranes allow for easier moisture vapor transference, reducing the potential for moisture-related problems such as mold, mildew, wood rot." Risk management companies note that new materials used in building construction during the last 20 years were energy-efficient, but ventilation poor, resulting in toxic mold claims of more than US$3 billion.

"Regardless of their degree of permeability, all VaproShield membranes resist the entry of bulk liquid water in the form of rain and snow," Hales said. VaproShield products act as a secondary line of defense in the wall or roof assembly and as a weather resistive barrier, VaproShield products are designed to intercept and drain away any liquid water passing through the building's cladding.
