ELMER, NJ, February 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ann Hampton Callaway, acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, will make an exclusive regional appearance at Appel Farm Arts and Music Center on Friday, March 6 at 8:00 PM. She will be joined in this performance by jazz greats Ted Rosenthal on piano and Jay Leonhart on bass. Callaway's lush vocals have been compared to Barbra Streisand, Sarah Vaughan and Dianne Reeves. A Tony Award nomination for her role in Broadway's Swing!, a Theatre World award, an unprecedented 14 awards from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, two Backstage Bistro Awards, three platinum records and more are just some of the accolades this versatile performer has to her credit. Her new CD from Telarc Jazz, At Last, is scheduled for release on February 3, 2009. Callaway calls this collection "love songs for grownups, " and it dazzles with its evocative arrangements of standards from the Great American Songbook. "For sheer vocal beauty, no contemporary singer matches Ms. Callaway," writes the New York Times.

A favorite on the jazz and pops concert circuit, she has appeared as a special guest artist with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and with over 25 of the nation's top orchestras and big bands, including performances at Carnegie Hall. Her new PBS-TV variety show Singers Spotlight with Ann Hampton Callaway recently aired in Chicago with guests Liza Minnelli and Christine Ebersole. The intimate venue at Appel Farm is an ideal place to experience the emotion and artistry that are the hallmarks of Ann Hampton Callaway's unique talent.
