Wall Street Gets a New Bull Market
Mark & Diane Weisbeck have been chosen to re-design Wall Street's Bull Market icon. Their winning design is a 13 ft tall rocket blasting off, entitled, "The Bull Market Rocket," the plumes of which leave the old, archaic bull and bear in the dust.

NEW YORK, NY, August 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- International award winning husband and wife sculpture team Mark and Diane Weisbeck have recently won a Wall Street, New York commission, through KiptonArt, New York, to create the modern BULL MARKET image for Wall Street. A private Wall Street commissioner, a prominent Wall Street executive, funded the project through KiptonArt, the brainchild of Kipton Cronkite. The exhibition, entitled, "The Color of Money: Collision of Art and Finance," is a finance themed art commission. This is the first commission of its kind ever produced.

The Weisbecks' sculpture, a "blasting off" rocket, has been chosen as the new, 21st Century symbol for the Bull Market, (The Wall Street terminology for the up-trending market.) The old bull and bear are icons that no one seems to remember the meanings of any more. The "Bull Market Rocket" is 13 feet tall and is constructed of textured and dyed stainless steel. The plume of the rocket is intricately swirling, textured stainless steel, which looks dazzling in the sunlight and gives the impression of motion and "blasting off." The rocket is powdered coated metallic blue with gold fins. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation. "The image of the blasting off rocket leaves the 19th century archaic bear and bull in the dust!" states artist Mark Weisbeck. "As Wall Street emerges reborn, so too must the icons and images of Wall Street. We are pleased to have been chosen to design the most positive of all Wall Street terminology, the Bull Market," elaborates Diane Weisbeck.

Bloomberg News Agency featured the Weisbecks "Bull Market Rocket "in an article about this commission on May 21, 2009.

The Weisbecks have won many international sculpture awards. They were the only artists in the world to represent New York in the Beijing China Olympics Sculpture Competition, winning the prestigious "Excellent Works" award. This was the first time that art was an official category of competition in the history of the Olympic Games. Mark and Diane were two of only eight Americans invited to participate.

In July, 2008 they unveiled a 32 foot tall waterfront sculpture in Rochester, New York, USA. "Water Spirits," is the gateway sculpture to the city of Rochester and was commissioned by the New York State Department of State. It is 2 and ½ tons of brass and was hand patinaed in "Statue of Liberty" green.

In 2004 the Weisbecks won a commission to create twelve light sculptures for the New York State Department of Transportation, which were placed on the pylons of three consecutive new bridges in Rochester, New York, USA.
A winner of the Changchun, China International Sculpture Competition, in 2000, the Weisbeck's "Expanding Influence of Peace" is a 30 foot tall sculpture which stands in the large Chinese city's sculpture park.

The "Bull Market Rocket" is the Weisbecks latest winning commission. The original sculpture is owned by the commissioner of the exhibition. A duplicate 13 foot tall rocket sculpture may be purchased through the artists for $35,000.00. Larger rockets are also available.
