SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When filmmaker Rand Alexander is having a bad day, he treats himself to a freshly baked cookie and after that first bite, the world is suddenly a better place. With that in mind, he developed Mmm Cookies, an entertaining iPhone and iPod touch application that lets users hand-pick their favorite cookie right off a warm baking tray and do the next best thing to actually eating it. Check out http://www.itunes.com/apps/MmmCookies for a peek at this $0.99 iTunes app that is quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to shake a bad day--without a single calorie.

Mmm Cookies allows users to take a virtual bite of their favorite cookie (chocolate chip, chocolate-chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and peanut butter, to name a few), pull them apart, and wipe away the crumbs when they are finished. No napkin necessary--just an iPhone or an iPod touch and a craving for something sweet and fun.

Chris Vadnais, a San Antonio-based undergraduate communications instructor, recently downloaded the app to his iPhone and finds it the perfect distraction when he's at his desk and thinking about grabbing a snack. "Believe it or not, Mmm Cookies didn't make me go insane for a 2pm sugar fix--it actually took the edge off and definitely distracted me for just long enough to jump back into grading papers," he reports.

Alexander, who was recently featured in an Associated Press story advocating a ratings system for mobile applications, offers that "The iPhone and the iPod touch changed the way we check our mail and surf the Web. Now they are changing the way that we entertain ourselves and stop to have a few minutes of harmless fun when we need it. That's what Mmm Cookies is all about."
