Warren L. Johns Celebrates 50 Years with California Bar Association

Mr. Johns is one of less than 400 lawyers who hold this honor



    BANNING, CA, December 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Warren L. Johns has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

There are few lawyers with as many years' experience as Mr. Johns. After receiving a JD from the University of Southern California in 1958, he was admitted to practice in California and the Supreme Court of the United States. From 1959 to 1969, Mr. Johns served as general counsel for the Southern California Conference Seventh-day Adventists and Pacific Union Conference Seventh-day Adventists. He then entered private practice before joining the General Conference Seventh-day Adventists in Washington, DC as general counsel in 1975. At this time, Mr. Johns was admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. More recently, he has been admitted to the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals.

Although Mr. Johns retired in 1998, he takes great pride in being one of less than 400 lawyers who have been a member of the California Bar Association for more than 50 years. As a member of the American Bar Association, Mr. Johns was a vice chairman for the committee on torts and nonprofit, charitable and religious organizations, as well as the section of tort and insurance practice, from 1990 to 1991. He holds a keen interest in health care, and served as special counsel for the Adventist HealthCare Corporation and Columbia Union HealthCare Corporation from 1992 to 1997. His civic involvement includes holding the roles of chairman of the board of directors and president of the Sacramento Area Economic Opportunity Council in 1974.

Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Johns has been continually recognized for his due diligence in the legal arena. Between 1987 and 2015, he was published in more than a dozen editions of Who's Who in American Law. He was also featured in a variety of other honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in the World. Outside of the legal realm, Mr. Johns considers one of his greatest achievements designing an organic chemistry aliphatic synthesis chart. He also authored a total of seven written works, including his most recent publication, "Three Days Before the Sun," which was released in 2012.
