About Wayne Riggs
Mr. Riggs is an independent artist who has always had a knack for creativity. He has traveled extensively, and while living in Atlanta, GA, he served as director of photography for the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. While living in Rome, Italy, he was a guest critic for the Rhode Island School of Design. Mr. Riggs has exhibited throughout the U.S. and Europe, with one-man shows in the Davenport City Museum, now the Figge Art Museum. He was shown in the British Embassy in Rome, La Mama Umbria International in Spoleto, Italy, and the Ersatz Gallery in Atlanta.
Mr. Riggs holds a BS in fine arts photography from Southern Illinois University School of Communication, which he earned in 1976. His works reside in several permanent museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the High Museum in Atlanta, the Tampa Museum in Florida, and the Musee des Beaux-Arts in Le Havre, France.
Mr. Riggs has always believed in the importance of exploring the next stage of artistic curiosity with old tools and new ones, and that perseverance is the key to reinventing one's voice. He advises budding artists to keep the "thread of your vision within your work intact" at all times.
