Ways & Means Oyster House Kicks Off Grand Opening with their Inaugural Portland Shuck-It Oyster Challenge

The Challenge Boasts Fierce Competition From Local First Responders Coupled With A Good Cause



    PORTLAND, OR, August 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ways & Means Oyster House will celebrate their grand opening in Bridgeport Village, with their inaugural Portland oyster-eating contest to benefit local charities, on Saturday, August 26 at 10 a.m. The event boasts fierce competition coupled with a good cause, as $3 from every oyster eaten by the winning team will be donated to that team's charity of choice. Three team members from the Tigard Police Department, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and the Tualatin Police Department will each be given 60 seconds to eat as many oysters as they can, while spectators cheer on their favorite team. The event will take place at Ways & Means Oyster House, which is located in Bridgeport Village at 7331 SW Bridgeport Rd, Portland, OR 97224.

"The Ways & Means team is extremely dedicated to giving back to our community and we're very excited to bring that spirit to our home in Bridgeport Village," said Director of Operations Dan Schneider. "We've received tremendous support from this event at our California location from both the wonderful organizations involved and the attendees. We are looking forward to meeting our new neighbors while benefiting a great cause."

This event was developed by founders, Parnell and Jennifer Delcham and Dena Mathe, who feel strongly about giving back to the community. Ways & Means Oyster House has a large emphasis on community work that focuses on saving our oceans, supporting the humane treatment of animals, autism, and cancer research.

Attendees can enjoy food and drinks from the lunch and brunch menus during the event, with a $1 from every brunch dish sold during the event between 10:00 am - 11:00 am going to the winning charity as well.
