/24-7PressRelease/ -- Web Media Expert CEO Michelle Hummel chosen to be contributing editor to The Social Media Monthly Magazine!
Founder of The Cool Blue Company, Robert Fine, has a special focus on quality artwork for the print publication. The inaugural September issue featured a specially designed cover by artist Yiying Lu, known for her famous drawings of the "Fail Whale" used by Twitter and the "Pale Whale" featuring Conan O'Brien - and included a bonus removable wall graphic. The October issue features a cover design and a special double-sided pull-out poster by DC based design firm JESS3. Tech Cocktail Startup Mixology conference attendees may especially like the colorful poster, which features the various "ingredients" that each speaker spoke about as requirements for starting and running a new venture.
Other articles in the October issue include an exploration of social media's impact on the Vancouver hockey riots by Lauri Stevens, a view of the new Fall TV season and social media's adoption by Shorty Award Winner Carri Bugbee, an introductory article about the concept of online influence by Social Fresh founder Jason Keath, a case study on Verizon's use of social media for customer service by Becky Carroll, the Red Sox Nation expansion into social by Rose de Fremery, and a feature interview with Klout founder Joe Fernandez.
You can find it on newstands now, or subscribe to it and have it delivered to your home or office. Of course in true techie fashion, Fine has already announced that The Social Media Monthly is available as a standalone flash digital e-zine and as a downloadable iPad app in the iTunes store.
Looking ahead to the next month, "The upcoming November issue has received a 50% order increase since our launch issue just six weeks ago. It will expand our international footprint by two more countries with Spain and Portugal, and will be carried throughout Canada by the Chapters/Indigo bookstore chain and Walmart Canada," said Robert Fine.
"We will continue to try and do things that keep print fresh and readers interested in having a print copy of the magazine. Right now, there are some things you just can't reproduce in a digital format, like a reusable sticker or a wall poster."
Fine is also the author of "The Big Book of Social Media Case Studies, Stories, Perspectives" and has over 17 years experience as a systems and sales engineer with various high-tech companies. In addition to The Social Media Monthly, Fine is currently pursuing his PhD at George Mason University where he is researching links between investments in information technology and achieving conservation outcomes.
