Website Creator Wix Introduces Beta Version of Designer Directory

    NEW YORK, NY, April 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The revolutionary website building technology designed by Wix makes creating a Flash website extremely simple. Users can choose to create their websites entirely from scratch, or to select a template from Wix's extensive template gallery. For Wix users who desire additional design assistance, ranging from site touch-ups to complete web design, the Wix Designers Directory connects users with professional freelance web designers who have experience with the website builder.

The beta version of the new Designers Directory is scheduled for release in the next few weeks, according to Director of Design Community, Brandon Kreiss. This revamped directory, or the Wix Arena, will be "a more robust directory and will enhance the designer-selection process for Wix users." There are currently 70 professional web designers listed in the directory. Each designer provides a glimpse of his/her work, with a portfolio of three sample Wix websites. The new directory will include over 100 designers, each offering an extended Wix portfolio. Additional implementations will include the listing of client recommendations alongside designers to increase credibility. A system of designer reward incentives will include banner advertisements and a marketing budget with Google.

The connection between Wix users and professional web designers is facilitated by Wix, but the company steps out of the relationship once contact is made. Rates and deadlines are agreed upon between the Wix user and the designer. Designers interested in participating in the directory are invited to submit samples of websites created with Wix to the contact listed at the top of the Directory's page.

There are currently around 3.5 million free user accounts with Wix. Small businesses and home office clients make up most of the clientele of Wix's professional web designers.

For the majority of Wix users who customize their websites themselves, technical and customer support is readily available. All users are granted access to the Wix Help Center, a wiki website with articles and video tutorials offering assistance on the free website builder. An ISQ application is provided for users to submit specific questions. Wix users may also fill out question forms to "Ask a Representative" if a specific answer is not located. There is also a Wix forum where users can engage in dialogue and exchange ideas.
