/24-7PressRelease/ -- The idea for a WEBTV portal promoting tourism in Thailand came about following a news story the company produced about the booming superyacht scene in Phuket late last year.
"After our story aired around the world on the BBC travel show Fast Track, we were approached by webmasters from the marine and tourism industries who wanted more of this type of content" says Justin Weily, head of Ants Media Group's Asian division.
"We gave most of them the embed code to our video player and then thought, why not make more of these videos, offer them to the many blogs, video portals and social media sites that exist as an instrument to promote tourism!"
The uptake for the initial story was extremely positive with the video appearing on yachting websites, social media sites and WEBTV portals such as iTUNES, the BBC iPlayer, Current TV and National Geographic Channels' natgeoadventure.tv to name a few.
"With the way online video platforms have matured and the enormous distribution the internet offers, we find ourselves in a great position to produce and distribute the types of stories we're used to seeing only on television.
There are tremendous opportunities for producers and marketers to exploit the many video platforms out there hungry for decent video content."
Ants Media Group has employed the services of Search News Media to spear-head the launch, with the aim of generating over 700,000 unique monthly users. A website sponsorship package to include display, pre-roll, data-capture and advertorials is currently available.
The beta version of the WebTV site is live at http://www.pearlofthesouth.tv
