WHANGAREI, NEW ZEALAND, September 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fitness and nutrition expert Carolyn Hansen says of her latest gift giveaway event - which offers visitors free downloadable gifts worth thousands of dollars - "People are more confused than ever about what foods they should be putting in their shopping cart, and in their body, and we aim to help clarify the situation with our free event."
Giveaway events have become increasingly popular in recent years, but events that concentrate on health and fitness themes are still quite rare. This is what distinguishes the Weight Loss Gifts Giveaway event from most other events that concentrate on how to make money online.
"That's unfortunate," says Carolyn Hansen, "because the inability to maintain a healthy body weight affects so many different aspects of our lives, and is becoming increasingly more problematic for an ever-larger portion of the general population as we grow heavier and heavier with every year that passes."
She is not wrong. Obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary disease - these chronic health conditions affect a larger portion of the population today than at any previous time in our history. Celebrity figures, including Oprah and Dr. Oz, have been warning the public for years about the consequences of following an unhealthy diet. But the problems have grown worse, despite the sometimes graphic depictions of the internal health complications that can arise when waistlines expand and the frequency of visits to the local doctor shoot through the roof.
"The irony is, it doesn't have to be this way," says Carolyn. "We know more today than ever about how to remain not just healthy, but to live productively, and with zest for life, well into old age. If we are not doing it, it is because we have turned a blind eye to what we have learned recently by following some very bad advice about what to put into our bodies. In the last 50 years we have practically undone two million years' worth of evolutionary fine tuning that saw us go from a two-legged curiosity on the African savannah to the most successful species to arise in this part of the cosmos. It is staggering how far we have come. And yet this pales in comparison to the fall we are now witnessing as our bodies collapse under the weight of our own nutritional ignorance."
For years Carolyn Hansen and other nutritional experts have cheered whenever Dr. Oz, or some other widely recognized health professional, has been able to gain the public's attention and shine a light on our problems with food. Recently Time magazine ran a special nutritional issue called "What To Eat Now" in which Dr. Oz uncovered the myths we have about foods. Carolyn Hansen is now joining forces with nutritional expert Gillian Hood-Gabrielson, self improvement expert Stephanie Mulac, and self esteem expert Dr. Joe Rubino, to host her latest giveaway event dedicated to the improvement of public health.
When visitors arrive at the Weight Loss Gifts Giveaway event on Oct 6th, 2011, they will be able to download free ebooks from vendors whose aim it is to educate the public about what it takes to maintain a healthy body weight, or reach a healthy body weight by shedding fat using sensible weight loss strategies.
Carolyn Hansen is a certified fitness professional and expert on healthy eating who recently created a fat loss plan, called "No Excuses Body Makeover" which is designed to assist people with their fat loss goals using an online membership approach.
