AUSTIN, TX, October 02, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- One of the largest primary healthcare providers for seniors in the region has moved into a larger facility serving central Austin.
WellMed at Midtown, formerly on 38th Street, is now serving patients at 3708 Jefferson Street, Suite A. The 8,700 square-foot clinic - with 15 exam rooms and an on-site lab - is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Midtown clinic, which is nearly twice the size of its previous location, features convenient parking, a bilingual staff, easy wheelchair access and 24-hour on-call urgent care service.
WellMed entered the Austin market in 2008 with the opening of WellMed at Midtown and two other Senior Clinics: WellMed at St. John's (6938 N. IH-35, Ste 120) and WellMed at Ben White (1221 W. Ben White Blvd, Ste. 100). To learn more about becoming a patient at any WellMed Senior Clinic, call toll-free at 1-888-781-WELL (9355) or visit http://www.wellmedmedicalgroup.com.
To commemorate the grand opening at its new address, WellMed at Midtown will conduct two flu shot clinics open to any Medicare-eligible senior and select caregivers. The clinics are set from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6 and Thursday, Oct. 8. The flu shots are courtesy of WellMed and will not be charged back to Medicare.
Earlier this month, the non-profit WellMed Charitable Foundation donated $10,000 to Catholic Charities of Central Texas on behalf of WellMed at Midtown physicians - Peter A. Nutson, MD and Nancy Thorne Foster, MD, FACP.
WellMed is one of the largest primary healthcare providers for seniors in Central and South Texas, serving more than 40,000 seniors in Austin, San Antonio, Boerne, New Braunfels and more. Midtown is the 24th WellMed clinic in Texas.
WellMed clinics are designed with older adults in mind, with a focus on preventive care and wellness. WellMed Senior Clinics - run by physicians dedicated to senior care - serve Medicare-eligible patients in the Austin area.
WellMed is one of the fastest-growing private companies in the nation, due in large part to its commitment to change the face of healthcare delivery for seniors. Many WellMed patients qualify for unique services designed to remove barriers to receiving quality preventive healthcare. These services include:
