Wendy Snell Yeldell Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Military Leadership

Wendy Yeldell received a Legion of Merit award from the military in 2011



    WOODBRIDGE, VA, May 23, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wendy Snell Yeldell, a Retired U.S. Army Colonel, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in leadership.

Mrs. Yeldell is a respected senior manager with more than three decades of professional experience and expertise in leadership and training. She specializes in training personnel in all branches of the military. Mrs. Yeldell began her career as a social worker for Child Protective Services and then, several years later, entered active duty with the U.S. Army Reserve as a Lieutenant (AGR). She was the first African American female commissioned in the University of South Carolina's Army ROTC program.

Prior to her retirement from the military as a Colonel, Mrs. Yeldell completed 26 years of active service and established herself as a dedicated professional. Also the first African American female board-selected for Brigade command (AGR), she completed a succesful stint as commander for a medical training brigade in April 2011. She supervised the staff and facilities for the brigade and provided realistic medical training to units across the U.S. preparing to deploy overseas. In 2011, Ms. Yeldell received a Legion of Merit award from the military. She was named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who the same year.

In 2006, Ms. Yeldell earned a master's degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. She holds a Master's Certificate in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University and is pursuing a Project Management Certification. Mrs. Yeldell attributes her success to having excellent mentors over the years. She also credits her strength and faith in God, as well as the challenges that pushed her. Looking toward the future, she aims to be actively employed with the government as a director or an assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Defense. She aspires to be a positive influence and give back to society.
