BUDD LAKE, NJ, February 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "...this book is simply mad, crazy, hilarious!" Bill Ward, Author Revenge
The ground-breaking, earth-shattering, belly-laughing, overly-hyphenated novel is finally here. The Deific Dozen is a madman's answer to The Da Vinci Code, a raucous romp of research and ridiculousness... and alliteration.
It has long been suspected that aliens have watched over us, interacted with us, and even tinkered with our nether regions. But until now, no one was brave enough to bring forth the truth about the connection between modern religion and aliens from another galaxy! Was Jesus given secret information from travelers from outer space? Were most of the major discoveries throughout history, like the recipe for KFC chicken, provided by spacemen? Are the answers to the universe protected by a secret society devoted to the number 12? Why are Scientologists so nutty?
All these questions are almost answered and semi-logically explained in this enlightening, thrilling, and comedic adventure spanning several continents and countries and featuring allergies, phobias, OCD, bodily fluid, bad jokes, and loony celebrities.
"What a wild ride! It is never boring." Scott Spotson, Author The Four Kings
While working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Violet Sterne finds her father, the curator of the Arms & Armory Division, fatally shot. He leaves her with few clues and a cryptic request, "Find Grant Piosto. Only he can help." Violet does find Grant and the two set out on a quest of epic proportions--unraveling a centuries-old mystery, facing grave danger and villainous celebrities, meeting a cavalcade of odd characters, and bringing to light the truth about alien involvement in mankind. From New York to Italy to England and California, the world travelers uncover secrets about Christianity, aliens, Scientology, and the amazing number 12.
"...very funny- at times hilarious..." Daniel Loubier, Author Dead Summit
The Deific Dozen is not a straight-on parody of The Da Vinci Code but more a satire of Dan Brown's style of writing. The author of The Deific Dozen set out to convincingly create a mythology intertwining fact, theory, legend, coincidence, some BS, and a bit of imagination into a solid tale of adventure and mystery, but with a humorous twist. Nothing is off limits and everything and everyone is fair game in this satire.
"...wonderful, fun read...fast-paced, wild ride..." Diane, Goodreads Review
Also parodied are two of Scientology's most famous members, though their names are cleverly disguised as Thom Crows and Jon Trafalgar. These celebrities are an amalgamation of rumor, tabloid speculation, and nonsense, with a dash of mischievousness and violence culled from some of their movie characters. The book's satire is meant purely in fun and jest and certainly not to insult or defame any person, real or fictional, referenced within.
"...better than The Da Vinci Code..." Sam, Goodreads Review
The Deific Dozen is not only a parody of novels about codes and mystery, but the book itself contains codes, puzzles and hidden secrets known only to the author. A reader could spend, or waste (depending on your perspective), a great deal of time uncovering what lies within the pages of The Deific Dozen. Or you could just read the darn thing and put it away.
"Fantastic funny read from start to finish!" Anna, Amazon Review
The bottom line is that The Deific Dozen is a fast-paced, funny and irreverent satire that should keep anyone with a sense of humor entertained. If you loved or hated The Da Vinci Code--then The Deific Dozen is for you.
"...laugh out loud funny...you won't want to put this one down..." Slongino, Amazon Review
The Deific Dozen is available as a paperback and digital version at Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com. An audio version will be released in 2014.
