SKOKIE, IL, February 18, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- All girls want their special moment to feel like a princess, and this year Westfield Old Orchard (Skokie Blvd & Old Orchard Rd. Skokie, IL 60077) and Westfield Hawthorn (122 Hawthorn Center, Vernon Hills, IL) along with The Glass Slipper Project, will give Chicagoland girls the prom dress of their dreams.

Westfield Old Orchard and Westfield Hawthorn will, for the first time, participate in making prom dreams come true by helping to provide dresses and accessories free of charge to local teens. Working with The Glass Slipper Project, Westfield will collect new and lightly used prom attire and accessories, March 19-24 at Westfield Old Orchard and Westfield Hawthorn, for the annual Boutique Days events held Saturday April 14, 21 and 28.

"Westfield is thrilled to be giving back to the community through this meaningful program," stated Westfield Regional Marketing Director, Enna Allen. "We are happy to provide the means for a special occasion these young women will always remember."

The Glass Slipper Project efforts are 100% volunteer and donation based and as the program grows year after year, the local community has pooled together as ongoing partners. "Each year, we are able to provide over 1,700 high school girls from Chicagoland and beyond with the entire prom ensemble," says Board Member of The Glass Slipper Project, Amy Ross. "There's lots of cheering, smiling and hugs to go around at each boutique!"

Westfield Old Orchard shoppers can drop off their donations at the Concierge Center located in the service collection next to Helzberg Diamonds. Students from Niles North & West High Schools will be volunteering on March 24 to help accept donations. Westfield Hawthorn shoppers can drop off their donations at the Concierge Center, located on the upper level near Carson Pirie Scott. Each shopper who donates merchandise will receive one $10 Westfield Gift Card and a variety of special retailer offers. Participating schools, including Libertyville High School and Niles North & West High Schools will have displays set up from February 27 to March 24, promoting The Glass Slipper Project donation days and Westfield shopping centers as a destination for prom shopping.

Both Westfield locations will be hosting several prom themed events during March and April, starting with Westfield Old Orchard and Westfield Hawthorn's Prom-Party Saturday. The free prom-themed party is open to the public and will include music provided by a local DJ, prizes, and the crowning of a "prom king and queen". Party-goers will also have a chance to win a special "prom package" that includes a spa package from Mario Tricoci and a $300 Westfield Gift Card! The party hours are noon to 4 p.m., March 24 at both Westfield locations. Other prom-themed events taking place exclusively at Westfield Old Orchard include a free fashion show March 24 at Lord & Taylor, showcasing current trends in prom fashion, as well as a prom shopping event 2-5 p.m. April 14 in the Bloomingdale's dress department. There, shoppers can enjoy a DJ, makeup touch-ups and special gifts with purchase offered by BCBG.
