Recently one of Manyon's posts on Twitter earned her some ink in the Feedback section of the May issue of Entrepreneur magazine. Manyon tweeted about an article on winemaking that appeared in the March issue of Entrepreneur magazine. Before she even opened her most recent copy of Entrepreneur , Manyon started receiving Tweets from followers on Twitter who read the magazine and recognized her handle @writeoncreative.
"Getting ink in the form of a reprint of a tweet, in Entrepreneur is great for building relationships, making connections and increasing brand impressions." Manyon says. "Just like any business interaction, you have to establish rapport and find common interests. Prior to the publication of my tweet including twitter handle @writeoncreative, I had more than 4,000 followers and now it's over 5,000.
On Facebook Manyon uses her personal page under her own name to engage and build relationships. One of her discussions about wine with a new Facebook friend resulted in a business transaction.
"Valery Satterwhite and I connected and started chatting about our passion for wine." Manyon explains. "When Valery realized I'm a professional copywriter and marketing strategist she invested in my services and I've attracted several other clients via Facebook, too. Social Media isn't a waste of my time when it results in quality connections and more business."
