What Does Love Look Like? The Vox Photo Project Helps At-Risk Children Capture Their World One Shot at a Time

    LOS ANGELES, CA, May 27, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- What Does Love Look Like? to a 10 year-old in Colombia? The Vox Photo Project posed this question to children in at-risk communities around the world. The answer is in their photos. Vox's second fundraising event will be held June 26th and 27th and will support charities that benefit children. The exhibit will reflect how children see A Day in the Life, Interesting People and Places, and What Does Love Look Like? in their communities. The fully immersive and interactive experience is being brought to life by artists, engineers and Imagineers donating their time. Vignettes will transport visitors of the exhibit to some of the countries represented. Photos featured come from Vox students in Bangladesh, Colombia, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, and Los Angeles. The fundraiser will be held at Zynderia Studios, 1741 Naud St., Los Angeles. Tickets are $15 per child and $30 per Adult. They can be purchased at www.voxphotoproject.com. All donations are tax deductible through The Geefay Foundation.

Allowing the young students to capture their environment through their own eyes is fundamental to project founder, Dolce Wang. "Placing a camera in a child's hand is a direct way to show them their stories are worth telling, their community matters and they matter." Money raised at the event will benefit: Adom Partnership International, The Charis Foundation, Covenant House California, Hands Offering Hope, IMA Guatemala, Road to Artdom, Speak Up for the Poor, and Vikasitha. Donations will be used towards specific needs in each community such as clothing, medical treatment, educational funds, and art education. The first fundraiser in 2012 raised over $30,000.

About the Vox Photo Project: Dolce Wang, artist, founder, and philanthropist, started the project five years ago as a vehicle to help empower at-risk children in communities around the world to experience self-expression through photography. Participants learn the basics of photography in a one week intensive workshop taught by Wang.
