This inspired line is designed to make family safety quick, easy, and practical (just what busy parents need). It is simply called Safety Goddess.
Starting in late-August, WIC offices of San Francisco will be screening and distributing Responsible Family's award winning DVD Care for Kids: The Essential Guide to Preparing Caregivers. More than 15,000 mothers, infants and children who receive services in San Francisco will have access to this educational program about the most common childhood medical emergencies. Britt Michaelian, CEO of Responsible Family Company will lead safety discussions with participants of WIC in San Francisco this fall, to help increase safety smarts within the WIC community.
With the goal of increasing child safety awareness in the parenting community, Responsible Family Company created the Safety Goddess . Her line will include consultation services, media and accessories that are dedicated to the WIC program, but intended for all parents.
Responsible Family Company was founded in 2007 by Britt Michaelian, M.A., mother of three, child safety expert and author of the book Secrets of the Safety Goddess: A Modern Safety Guide for Busy Parents to be released in September 2008.
"Parents are busy and although safety is at the top of our minds, accidents happen," explains Michaelian. "Knowing how to prevent and react to emergencies is critical because the number one cause of death in children is preventable injury. The Safety Goddess is a symbol of the power within us to keep kids safe. There is an omnipotence to that responsibility."
Ultimately, the objective with Safety Goddess is to make it hard for parents not to keep their kids safe by providing the tools and information they so desperately need. "You can never know too much about safety," jokes Michaelian, "so I will keep teaching courses, writing books and making movies until I have made a positive difference in my community!"
