WHAT'S OLD IS NEW AGAIN
Historic Casco Viejo Hotel Restored to Meet Modern Standards

/24-7PressRelease/ - MIAMI, FL, September 28, 2007 - Merging the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Panama today with the classic history of yesterday is no easy task. Yet, historical Casco Viejo landmark Hotel Casco Antiguo, will now be restored and brought into modern times with historic department approvals granted this week. The Director of the Office of Casco Antiguo, Ariel Espino, comments that "The Office of Casco Antiguo supports this project not only because it's recovering an icon hotel but also for its social contribution".

Originally built in 1923, this five story Spanish colonial building will have a total of 77 condo-hotel rooms with a goal of bringing back the luxury that was once ever-present in this metropolis. Focusing on Casco Viejo's exciting atmosphere, the majority of Hotel Casco Antiguo's rooms will feature private balconies overlooking the city or courtyard. Each resident will feel the European influence of years past through the hotel's design while enjoying the excitement of the country's most visited destination.

Historic Casco Viejo, included on UNESCO's World Heritage List, is experiencing a renaissance thanks to local businesses looking to recapture its three hundred years of French and Spanish roots. The district is expected to be restored within ten years. This growth can be attributed to the growing real estate investment inversion it has been experiencing for the past years. With style a top priority, Hotel Casco Antiguo brought on celebrated architecture firm Hache Uve, who specialize in historic restoration and have spearheaded projects such as the National Theater, Cuatro Casas, Callejon del Chicheme, Museo Carlos Endara, and the Benedetti property.

The renovation of the hotel will undergo two phases of construction. Phase one will involve the redesign of 34 rooms, the addition of a rooftop terrace and bar entitled Reflections, and the restoration of the Moorish-style historic lobby-patio with original tiling and a clubroom entitled Celebrations. Phase two will break ground six months after phase one, and will add the remaining 40 rooms, an inclusive high-end spa entitled Mediations, and a members-only courtyard and bar adjoining the two buildings. Completion of phase one is expected by mid-2009, with sales commencing in 2007.

The property will boast numerous amenities such as an open-air pool with panoramic rooftop views, a superior Mediterranean fusion restaurant, and a 24-hour concierge. The staff will be on-hand to book day trips to the beach, Taboga Island, the Panama Canal, rainforests, and the country's capital. The various pieces of this impressive puzzle will result in an intellectual business investment and magnificent location to disconnect from daily stress, all within walking distant of world-class restaurants, night-life, and shopping.

Panama offers an ideal geographic location, not only for its year-round warm weather but for the diverse geographic offerings such as tropical vegetation and ecotourism ideal for mountain lovers, breathtaking beaches, and world-class diving and fishing. In addition, the well-known investment benefits such as tax breaks, resident opportunities, and usage of U.S. dollars, make this location a second-home dream come true. Panama's sophisticated existence competes with any other Latin America country, while Hotel Casco Antiguo features the best of city life, luxurious relaxation, architecture and design, and historic influence.
